Is this your time to become involved?

As I assume the role of interim Executive Director for CCDS I must first thank Kimberly White for the good job she did when fulfilling the responsibilities necessary for the efficient operation of our Society. She also is to be commended for the way she prepared for the transition to a new ED. Kimberly left detailed instructions on procedure that are the essential tasks for this position. Thank you Kimberly.
During the next three months your executive committee will be evaluating the the role of the ED as well as the strategic plan for the next year. We will also be setting short and long term goals for our society. I look forward to being part of the planning process.
The role of the ED is to work closely with each officer to facilitate their individual leadership responsibilities. The most effective societies have a good mix of direction from volunteer leaders and paid staff. It is my personal goal to identify and motivate members of CCDS to become involved and contribute their uniqued abilities to accomplish the goals of the ADA tripartite organization.
The component level is where individuals come together and develop collegiality. New members to our profession can be welcomed and made to feel part of the greater dental professional life. New leaders are grown by careful mentoring from seasoned leaders.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity, a time to search and a time to give up. Each member needs to search their situation in life and answer the question, when is it my time to serve? Is this a time in your life you are willing to give up some less important activity and contribute your leadership skills to help CCDS grow. A time to help CCDS become an atractive organization to participate in?
Right now we need someone to step up and fill the office of secretary/treasure. Give me a call if you would like to talk about what it would mean to you personally and professionally to fill this position.
