Where Quality Still Counts

As we enter the second quarter of 2010, economists still predict a slow economic recovery. Some prognosticators predict the end of 2011 before the economy recovers. We’ve heard stories about restaurants cutting costs by purchasing lower grade cuts of meat to serve at the table. Trucking companies are deferring maintenance on their truck fleets in order to stay out on the road. If we applied this to dentistry, would we consider placing lower grade restorative materials in patients mouths? How about suggesting patients defer treatment even thought they have recurrent caries on a tooth?

Punky and the Bomber

30 years ago when I moved to Oregon, I remember driving down SE McLoughlin Blvd. in Milwaukie and doing a double take when I saw a B-17 bomber perched above a gas station, appropriately named, “The Bomber Gas Station”. I always wondered how that workhorse of World War II arrived at this resting spot.

We know time is something none of us seem to have enough of. Health care professionals are really good at time management though. That’s why we are calling upon you to help. The North Clackamas School District Nurses need you!
Our vision is to get the students in our schools, who do not have dental insurance, seen by local dentists at no charge. As you well know, many children come to school daily in pain as a result of caries. With the economy the way it is, there are many families that cannot afford dental care for their children.
